2016 Compiled Card Revisions

Since the beginning of DDM, we've never wanted to ban miniatures.
But we started in 2010, as part of an effort to keep the competitive play atmosphere healthy.

The best competition has nobody holding back their creativity, or avoiding a warband because its simply too good for competitive play and will make them unpopular.

We added six new creatures to the Banned list this year - briefly. Then we gave them new cards and re-released them. Nobody wants a miniature that just sits on a shelf, collecting dust, do they?

The revisions here are small, and many will say they are not enough. But they are sufficient. The Sellsword will still be a good piece, even with a basic attack that only does 15 damage. The Blue is fine as well, with only 10 damage on its ranged attack. Other pieces that saw modification include the Beholder Ultimate Tyrant, who was greatly weakened, as well as Cattie Brie, who only lost a keyword and remains an awesome creature, fully useable in the current metagame. The Galeb Duhr and Ambush Drake suffered a bit as well. The human merchant guard fared almost as well as Cattie Brie - it adds a check box to the bodyguard ability - but we all know that this is probably sufficient for their main job anyway. The Rot Scarab Swarm was similarly clarified, with its stun now only lasting til the end of the round. The new file includes the older restats, so you have everything in one handy file, and can lose your links to the old ones.

These are the pieces you should be considering for the championships in Indianapolis and Nijmegen.

All Right Here.

These look really good. Some of the early bans were too heavy and none of the figs really ever see play. Most of these are still good figures just no longer the absolute best in cost. The eye tyrant might be too much but I've never faced one before to know how dominant it truly was. Good job team!

thankyou for ressurect my BUT. But.... iam little confused with rot scarab swarm. When iam play with beholder tyrant long time ago, my opponents stuned my beholder with 2 scarabs for 4 activations. Now, iam stuned until end of round.. Can iam use next activation or iam stuned 4 rounds???

Oh wow. That's true.

We had not been thinking about the Scarabs in Epic when they were altered.

But now the Scarabs can block a lot or a little, depending upon when they actually get to the Beholder.
(If its early in the round, it could be 3 activations. If its late, it is 2).

This 'til end of round thing can work out to be good anti-multi activation tech.

Very well done. All restats are still very powerful.

I think Dwayne is forgetting an older conversation we had re: Rot Scarab vs Titans. It's important to have some balance vs. Titans. In epic play, if you bring a multi-activating creature with no way to kill/push/pull/slide/daze/stun a 35 HP swarm creature with low defenses, then you may suffer the consequences. That's not a bad thing - that's a natural part of the Rock Paper Scissors of the game.

so.. Ultimate scarabs tyrants will be updated? My proposal – "stuned until end of round, medium (large Puzzled 19 pts..) or smaller only.. Or level range 1-??. Iam think, this is fair.

no update planned. So when you use your tyrant, bring support that helps with the scarabs - or kill them first.

Cool. I like that the figs are not denatured by the restat. They all keep their defining abilities and skills.

Seems like a great restat.
