Player's Handbook Heroes, Series 2 Stat Cards

It doesn't even seem possible, but the second set of _Player's Handbook Heroes_ miniatures are just around the corner. Soon, you'll have the Rashemi Witch, the Windmaster Mage, and the rest in your hands.

While several of these cards retained stats originally designed and developed for _Feywild_ and other unreleased sets, and several others are reprints of past and upcoming restats, the rest are entirely the Guild's own creations.

The stat cards will be legal for all DCI-sanctioned and Online League events starting July 21, 2009.

2009 Final List of Qualified Players

Unlike previous years, the 2009 Constructed Championship will be a Grand Prix-style event that is open to all players. Stage I of the championship will be held on Friday, August 14, beginning at 9 a.m. All players must register warbands before the start of Stage I. Currently, Stage I is planned for three rounds of play. The number of rounds may change, based on attendance, and top players (also based on attendance) will move on to Stage II of the tournament, which begins on Saturday, August 15, at 9 a.m.

Online League: Spring Grand Champion

The DDM Guild's Online League began in February 2009. The league has been a great way to promote some friendly, international, inter-Chapter play. Our Winter 2009 season was brief, but the Spring 2009 season ran a full twelve weeks and produced our first Grand Champion: Eugene 'deadseashoals' Hwang of Seattle, Washington!

Player's Handbook Heroes, Series 2: Preview 3

After last week's scary jaunt in the wilderness, and at the risk of sounding a bit like a Drow, might I suggest we retire to the safer and more secure caverns of the Underdark?

Here, we will meet three different heroes that will only play nicely together when found in this sunless realm. However, they are a true bargain as a squad, weighing in at under 80 points. Nonetheless, outside the Underdark, they only see each other over crossed swords (or spears, as the case may be).

In particular, the Tiefling Spearfighter is a disciplined veteran of both Borderlands and Underdark warbands.

DDM Guild Repaint: July 2009 (Grimlock Minion)

Megan Smith, a valued community artist and Chapter Master in Brisbane, Australia, brings us the fifth in her series of monthly DDM Guild Repaints. Up this month: the Grimlock Minion from Monster Manual: Dangerous Delves.

Explanation and General Instructions

2009 Constructed Championship Fact Sheet

Well, it's certainly been an event-filled year here at the DDM Guild. Gen Con Indianapolis will be the first fully Guild-hosted championship event, and we are looking forward to it. It will be Grand Prix style, open to all, but with qualified players and highly ranked players getting byes through to Stage II.

Player's Handbook Heroes, Series 2: Preview 2

This week's preview takes us on a jaunt into the scary wilderness, where we find three different takes on the Wild hero. Player's Handbook Heroes, Series 2 gives Wild a shot in the arm -- perhaps enough that we'll see many green warbands at GenCon in six weeks or so. Perhaps even one or two of the creatures previewed today will make the critical cut.

We'll start with the least wild of the bunch, the Gnome Sneak. While normally a Fey child of the wild, you'll sometimes see him creeping into the civilized lands -- and not just to steal from them!

Eternal Blade Recall

It has become a tradition, just prior to GenCon, for the designers and the Organized Play folks to sit down and examine the state of the game. Of course, given the current state of the Guild, this is a metaphoric sit down, as we are scattered across the globe, but it follows the pattern set down by our predecessors at Wizards. Our quest lies in those figures that are causing problems for the Guild membership at large.

Player's Handbook Heroes, Series 2: Preview 1

In just under a month, Player's Handbook Heroes, Series 2 boosters will be gracing the shelves of your Friendly Local Game Store -- and that means 18 new figures for your skirmish game.

Scenario DW1: The Frost Giant's Picket

The Drow Wars continue, or at least a small chapter in them. This week's scenario, the Frost Giant's Picket, utilizes the popular Arena format and pits frost giant against dwarf in the snowy realms of the Windswept Precipice. Slog along with dwarves as they attempt to light a signal fire, or play the ambushers to test your entrapment skills. The grognards among you will see the connection between the drow and their frost giant allies, even if the Eberron-born think they are the ones that should be fighting.
