I'm not in favor of a championship decided on a die roll for map.
Given that the strength of field was in europe, and that they used a more classical model of how a championship needs to be run, I think its fine.

But, probably I need to modify the prior response.
Championship maps were Temple of the Unseeing and Dragon Shrine in Europe.
Winner can choose map. Play to 200.

Two maps at least add variety. I thought you were just trying to pick the best map to shit on Imyrith (2x2 hallways and electric immunity shrines) Big smile

Clearly we will need to agree on band sizes, rules versions and such. I emailed him to work that out. Waiting on a response.

Well, the player running the black dragon band wasn't happy with the map either.
And so it was.
The point is, Iymrith is not 'that great' a band if you have to account for the certainty of playing on a poor map.

Agreed. But the default rules are bring your map and I honestly wouldn't even mind playing her on dragon shrine against most bands. I still think she's a bit too strong. Even If they won map choice she gets to pick sides meaning they are starting far away from the lightning shrines. Dragon Shrine is only a good map in fixed map formats because if you bring the map opponent picks which side you get normally

We will be picking new bands and deciding on the format (8 or 10) and which version of rules (v2 most likely). Otherwise there's a missmatch as he gets +2 acts and had to build more generic and I built planning on winning map.

The thing is, the way the champs were run in the US was not correct.
You should not have used 8 acts max (yet) because of standard organized play practices.

I would bring him down to 8.

This seems truest to form:

Skullcleave Warrior 39
Skullcleave Warrior 39
Skullcleave Warrior 39
Kenku Sneak 6
Kenku Sneak 6
Kenku Sneak 6
Kenku Sneak 6
Young Red Dragon 52
7 points of magic items.

(most likely Buried Dragon Hoard and Baldur's Gait, but many options available)

However, I could also see replacing one kenku with a 12-14 point piece with a cursed item.
There are logical synergies such as the Bandit Captain or Jarhild Stoneforge that could work.)
