Update: DDM Guild Donation Premiums

Since we first announced the availability of premium gifts for donors, the DDM Guild has received a very enthusiastic response from the community. We've received support from hundreds of players the world over. Here's a quick update on shipping of premiums.

The majority of battle map requests have been fulfilled, and the remainder will be shipped this week. Originally, we had hoped to ship maps and cards together. However, circumstances have intervened.

Unfortunately, just as we were ready to submit the final card stat designs for Player's Handbook Heroes, Series 1 and Monster Manual: Dangerous Delves, our print-on-demand service stopped accepting new orders. We're now assessing our options, and we soon should have more specific information regarding the availability of the stat card premiums. We estimate that cards will be available for shipping some time in July 2009.

Donors who have requested stat card premiums now have two options: request battle map premiums in place of stat card premiums or wait. We realize that this situation isn't ideal, and we apologize for the unforeseen delay. As stated above, we've chosen to ship battle map premiums separately from stat card premiums, as we felt that it was unfair to ask some of our donors to wait up to six months for their maps.

While we're happy to make separate shipments in order to get battle maps into your hands more quickly, this decision also has a financial impact. As you know, the DDM Guild is a community-driven and fan-based organization. But we are forbidden from making a profit, and all moneys received via donation go toward covering expenses. As you also may know, shipping -- and particularly, shipping outside the United States -- can get pricey.

In short, making separate shipments increases the costs associated with producing donation premiums. We ask that you consider making a small donation in order to help us cover the additional expense. As always, feel free to contact us if you have comments, concerns, or questions.
