SKT Sealed

I'll be running some Storm King sealed play this Sunday and hopefully more in the future.

tried, Ira: Do you have a recommendation of max. point value for the format?

I'm thinking 3 boosters and 400 points. 8 activations. Guessing an average booster gives somewhere between 160-180 in points.

This went well with the mentioned 3 boosters, 400/8.

Highly recommended! Some hard hitting and little "flies" buzzing around the titans (namely sprites and homunculi).

I feel I was lucky to draw three different types of giants and built:

Fire Giant Duke (140)
Cloud Giant Captain (130)
Frost Giant Reaver (89)
Scarecrow (20)
Sprite Swashbuckler (11)
Homunculus (5)
Homunculus (5)

The four of us played two 1-hour rounds. I had some luck in the first game, wiping out the whole opposing warband without losing much of my own. In the second game against another opponent he got my Duke dominated with a Slaver but never got him finished before losing his main hitters. This went to time (a lot of HP to hack through and plenty of 1's on both sides).

All in all, very even warbands and lots of movement despite having 6 huges in each of our games. Once more: a brilliant set for sealed!

Nice!

Curious: how long did your 400-8 games last or how much time did you allow?

The usual one hour.

With set-up included, a new set for players that don't play too often* and lots of HP... it isn't all that much. If I'd known we would not get the third round in, could have went with 75 minutes, as I sometimes do. That would have ensured all games going to 400 points.

* Also the reason I did not want to confuse them with new rules. Next time.
