Dangerous Delves Stat Cards

At long last, the release of the first monsters in the new D&D Miniatures Monster Manual packs are about to arrive! In one week, you'll have your hands on the Aboleth Slime Mage, the Cyclops Crusher, the Beholder Eye Tyrant, and 37 of their best monster buddies.

Starting with a great foundation by Wizards of the Coast's Peter Lee, the DDM Guild has created stat cards for use with the Dangerous Delves monsters for use in the D&D Miniatures skirmish game.

The stat cards will be legal for all DCI-sanctioned and Online League events starting May 19th.

There is a new rule introduced with this set, which will be incorporated into the Battle Rules in the next update:

Action Ends: Some effects can only be ended by using a special action. A creature can end an effect with a duration of "attack action ends" affecting it as a replaces attack action. A creature can end an effect with a duration of "move action ends" affecting it as a replaces move action.

Finally, one creature's power requires extra explanation, as it works slightly differently than similar effects. It uses different language to illustrate the difference between it and most pull effects:

Harpy, Alluring Song: Unlike most forced-movement effects, a creature affected by Alluring Song must be pulled as many squares as possible, up to a distance of 3 squares.

Dangerous Delves was designed originally by Peter Lee at Wizards of the Coast. Stephen Hagan led the design team, consisting of himself, Peter Lee, and Michael Domezio for DDM Guild. Paul Grasshof led the development team, with Dave Gausebeck, Jason Lioi, Scott Schneider, and Kevin Tatroe contributing.

Go here and download them. Dissect them, discuss them, but most of all, get out there and play them!

Stay tuned for Thursday's article, in which we discuss Dangerous Delves sealed.
